Community Grants at The Community Foundation of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County

Community grant applications will be available July 1, 2024. Deadline for 2024 grant submissions is September 1, 2024.

Multiple Community Grant Opportunities Available: Giving Back

The ‘Giving Back’ application, each year connects local nonprofit organizations with grant funding. The ‘Giving Back’ process is a direct response to the ever changing and diverse needs of the nonprofit organizations in our community. Only nonprofit organizations physically located in, and serving, Harrisonburg and Rockingham County are eligible to apply.

In addition to consideration for grant funding from the funds as shown below, each November summaries of all ‘Giving Back’ applications are published in an edition of the Daily News-Record called the Giving Back guide. This publication offers visibility for Harrisonburg and Rockingham County nonprofit organizations to share projects and funding needs with the local community. The Community Foundation of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County uses the ‘Giving Back’ guide for donor conversations throughout the year. The Community Foundation encourages all 501c3 Harrisonburg-Rockingham nonprofit organizations to submit a ‘Giving Back’ application.
