OCP’s Annual 10K Walk Fundraiser

Ready to get your WALK on?

OCP’s Annual 10K Walk Fundraiser is SaturdayOctober 22th from 9am-12pmand we want YOU to be a part!

As always, The Walk is a fun, family friendly event (Costumes encouraged and Pumpkin carving included!), and kicks off and ends with complimentary meals: breakfast is served at 8am before the walk and lunch at 12pm afterwards.

We invite all individuals to participate in the walk, but this year we are hoping to have more teams involved so we can reach our grand goal of $30,000! Whoa! (Yeah, we’re serious.)

What does every team need?

A team Advocate! We are looking for individuals that are willing to put together a team of 10 people that can raise  $100.00 per person with a goal of$1,000.00 per team. Our goal is to have 30 advocates with Teams (team members can be made up of family members, business colleagues, university clubs, youth groups, friends, etc.) to participate in the walk.

So basically...

Team advocate: 1 per team
Team member goal: $100.00
Team Goal: $1,000.00
Overall Goal: $30,000!

Team Advocates are responsible for:

  • Finding 10 people willing to walk for OCP
  • Encouraging those 10 team members to find 10 people to sponsor them to walk for $10.00 per sponsor.
  • Attending one meeting (date TBA) to pick up packets for their team. (Pizza and drinks will be provided)
  • Checking in with their team members often to see how they are progressing toward their goal and if they need help finding sponsors.

Advocates will be in contact with and supported by Rianna, the Media & Events Coordinator here at OCP! ????

If you’d like to be an Advocate for Our Community Place and help us raise funds to continue the work of helping the homeless and marginalized in Harrisonburg, please sign up online by clicking the button below. Feel free to contact Rianna at [email protected], or via phone at (804)916-0864 if you need help or have questions!
